GUIDING TEAM

Paul Russell (Head Guide)
Holder of the Mountain Leader Certificate and Member of the British Mountain Leader Training Association, Paul is our Head Guide. Has extensive knowledge of the Scottish Mountains, particularly the Munro's, and has walked extensively over the British Isles. Paul's favourite areas are the Cairngorms and Knoydart. Has been guiding for numerous years, taking a wide range of ages onto the Mountains of Scotland from 21 to 67 years young. Also a member of The John Muir Trust. Has organised and led numerous long hike Charity Events raising monies for Braemar Mountain Rescue; Tayside Mountain Rescue; The John Muir Trust; and Caring for Kids. Paul is a Course Provider for the nnas (National Navigation Award Scheme) at Bronze and Silver Levels, and serves on The Mountaineering Council of Scotland's Executive Committee, co-opted onto the Mountain Safety Committee.

Jon Paul Malcolm (Assistant Guide)
Jon Paul has just completed
Mountain Leader Training and is now in the consolidation period before
undertaking his Assessment. He started walking and enjoying the outdoors in
the Scouts and has continued ever since - for the past five years he has
been walking seriously and is gets out on the hills whenever he can. His
favourite areas are close to home at Glenshee and around Glen Clova. His all
time favourite hill has to be Broad Cairn - it's probably the hill that he
has climbed the most, starting when he was a young boy .

Martin Menzies (Assistant Guide)
Martin is a registered member of the M.L.T.A. and the Mountaineering Council for Scotland. Martin has completed his Mountain Leader Training Course and is now in the consolidation period before his Assessment. He has been walking seriously now for 4 years and has led or co-led walks for his local Ramblers club and various charities, including Braemar Mountain Rescue, Tayside Mountain Rescue and Caring for Kids. Favourite areas include The Cairngorms and The Mamores and he would love to tackle the Cuillins in Skye some time soon.

Susan Russell (Assistant Guide)
Susan is our resident expert on all things flora and fauna. With over a hundred Munro's to her name, Susan has completed her Mountain Leader Training Course and is now in the consolidation period before her Assessment. Led and co-led numerous walks over the past 5 years, Susan's favourite area is Torridon.
